The Burton Midweight X Base Layer Three Quarter Boot Pants in True Black are a base layer I personally love to wear. The biggest advantage of this model is the three-quarter length. With a standard thermal pant you sometimes get bunching of fabric inside your boots; this version stops right above your shoes. That makes it not only more comfortable but also more practical for a full day of snowboarding.
The DRYRIDE Ultrawick X material feels soft against the skin and keeps your legs warm while quickly wicking moisture away. That means you won’t feel clammy or wet even during intense runs or hikes. For me that’s an absolute must in a good base layer.
The four-way stretch lets the pants move with you, whether you’re doing spins in the Park or carving deep turns in the powder. You’ll notice the fabric never gets in the way and you have maximum freedom of movement. The flat seams are a small detail but make a big difference by preventing irritation.
The Agion® odor-resistant treatment is a smart addition. Especially on multi-day snowboard trips you’ll notice your base layer stays fresh even after heavy use. That’s one of those things you only really appreciate when you’ve been on the road for a while.
What I personally find handy is that the three-quarter length also means fewer layers inside your boots, which not only feels more comfortable but also preserves the fit of your shoes. No pressure points, no riding-up fabric, just a snug and functional fit.
