All about the Lib Tech Orca
All about the Lib Tech Orca
Travis has tuned this Jackson Hole resort slasher into a top all-terrain tech shred predator. A long, floaty nose combined with a powerful, poppy short-radius "Whale Tail Technology" that maximizes contact.

Magne-Traction is a patented technology that creates wavy edges on snowboards for improved grip on icy and hard snow. These waves create extra contact points that increase stability and control.

Thanks to the volume-shifted design you ride the Orca 3-6 cm shorter than your regular board without losing float or stability. This makes the board extremely maneuverable—ideal for trees, tight lines and quick direction changes.
The Lib Tech Orca II is a powerful directional all-mountain snowboard that combines freeride performance with the playful character of a daily resort board. This model, developed by Travis Rice, is built for deep powder, technical lines and aggressive carves on groomers. Thanks to the updated shape, the Orca II feels powerful and direct, yet surprisingly agile.
The long, wide nose delivers plenty of float in soft snow, keeping the board on top of the powder so you can ride deep snow, pillow lines and technical terrain with confidence. The back features the strong Whale Tail Technology. This short, poppy tail increases contact with the snow and provides lots of control, stability and pop. As a result, the Orca II doesn't ride like a floppy powder fish, but like an energetic board that can also handle high speeds and big landings.
The crisp sidecut with a radius of about seven meters allows for fast, deep carves. The board responds directly and is easy to put on edge. At the same time it's wide enough to limit toe drag and provide extra surface in powder without feeling too wide for everyday resort use.
The Orca II features a volume-shifted design. This means the board is shorter and wider than a traditional snowboard. Lib Tech therefore advises riding it about three to six centimeters shorter than your usual board. This keeps it compact and maneuverable while still offering plenty of stability and float.
For construction Lib Tech uses a strong, poppy Makah Hemlock wood core. This wood is sustainably harvested by the Makah community, who live close to the factory in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. The topsheet is made from Ocean Bound PBT, produced from recycled PET plastic collected in coastal regions.
The Lib Tech Orca II is ideal for advanced and expert riders looking for one board for powder, steep lines and aggressive resort days. From deep powder sessions to firm groomers: this Orca feels at home everywhere. In addition, part of every sale is donated to the Orca Conservancy to help protect endangered orcas.
