The Rome Katana AW FASE Pro is a binding for snowboarders who want maximum control, speed and responsiveness from their setup. The well-known Katana has been renowned for years for its huge adjustability and direct board feel, and this Pro version raises the bar even more. Thanks to the carbon-reinforced construction the binding reacts even faster to every movement, while the FASE Fast Entry System gets you ready for your next run in no time.
The FASE system combines the familiar feel of a traditional two-strap binding with a much faster entry method. The AutoBack opens when you step out and closes automatically as soon as your boot is seated in the binding. The FastStrap stays connected and can be secured easily with one hand, while the Locked-In Toe Strap—once set correctly—can remain in place. That means you don’t have to fully undo and redo both straps every run.
The biggest difference compared to the regular Katana AW FASE is the Carbon Nylon Baseplate. This is made of 30% carbon and 70% nylon and provides extremely direct power transfer to your snowboard. Especially during hard carves, quick edge-to-edge transitions and technical terrain you’ll feel how much support this binding delivers. The AsymWrap chassis at the same time offers natural freedom of movement and board feel, so the Katana rides not only powerful but also surprisingly dynamic.
The OmniFlex Ankle Straps wrap comfortably around your boots and are built for high torsional response and direct edge-to-edge control. The ProGrip Toe Strap with AuxTech distributes pressure evenly and keeps your boot firmly in place. Underfoot the 2-Degree Dual Density Footbed provides extra support and a natural stance for your knees.
We see the Rome Katana AW FASE Pro primarily as a binding for the experienced to technical snowboarder. It feels medium-stiff to stiff, reacts incredibly quickly and performs best when you ride fast. From deep freeride lines and fast groomers to powerful carves and larger park features: this is a high-end all-mountain binding for riders who want to extract as much performance as possible from their snowboard.
